How Our Half Hog Shares Work
Want to stock your freezer with pasture-raised pork but don't need a whole hog? Our Half Hog Share is the perfect way to bring home P&K Family Farms pork at a fraction of the cost of buying individual cuts.
Before you order, here's what to know: Half hog shares are only available with our Standard Cut Sheet — custom cut sheets are exclusive to our whole hog shares in the fall.
Your Half Hog Share Includes:
- 12 packs of bone-in pork chops (2 per pack)
- 2 Boston butt halves
- 20 packs of ground breakfast sausage (1 lb each)
- 8 packs of smoked, uncured bacon (nitrate-free)
- 4 packs of country-style ribs
Offal and lard available on request.
Half Share Total: $797 (minus your $200 deposit placed at the time of order). Just like our whole shares, buying in bulk saves you several hundred dollars compared to purchasing individual cuts throughout the year.
The Process:
A non-refundable $200 deposit secures your spot. Once your hog is ready, we handle processing at a local USDA-certified facility and coordinate delivery or pickup with you after we pickup.
When Can I Expect My Pork Share?
We run two harvests during our growing season — one in early spring and one in the fall. In most cases, we can have your share ready for pickup within 3–4 weeks of placing your order. If we're between harvests or waiting on additional inventory, your share will be ready approximately two weeks after the next harvest date. As long as shares are available and not sold out, we've got a spot for you. If you're curious about current lead times or availability, just reach out — we're happy to give you an update.
How Much Freezer Space Do I Need?
Plan on about 2.5–3 cubic feet of freezer space for a half hog. A small chest freezer or a dedicated shelf in a standard upright freezer will do the job.

At P&K Family Farms, our pigs are raised the way nature intended — on pasture and in the wooded areas of our farm where they're free to root, forage, and just be pigs. They are never confined to concrete floors or cramped barns. Instead, they spend their days roaming under the tree canopy, digging for grubs, and doing what pigs do best.
We feed a non-GMO, corn-free, soy-free feed to supplement their natural forage — because what goes into your animal matters just as much as how it's raised. Our pigs never receive antibiotics, added hormones, or mRNA vaccines. Ever. No exceptions.
This isn't the easy way to raise pork — it's the right way. It takes more time, more land, and more hands-on care. But you can taste the difference, and more importantly, you can trust what you're feeding your family.
