Before you order, here's what to know: We offer two ways to bring home a whole hog — our Standard Cut Sheet or a Custom Cut Sheet. They're priced differently and available at different times, so take a minute to read through both options below to find your best fit.
How Our Whole Hog Shares Work
When you purchase a Whole Hog Share from P&K Family Farms, you're stocking your freezer with pasture-raised, vacuum-sealed pork — processed at a local USDA-certified facility. You've got two options:
Option 1: Our Standard Cut Sheet
Skip the guesswork. Our standard cut sheet gives you a ready-to-go selection of family favorites:
- 24 packs of bone-in pork chops (2 per pack)
- 4 Boston butt halves
- 40 packs of ground breakfast sausage (1 lb each)
- 16 packs of smoked, uncured bacon (nitrate-free)
- 8 packs of country-style ribs
Offal and lard available on request.
Standard Share Total: $1,595 (minus your $400 deposit placed at the time of order). That's a savings of several hundred dollars compared to buying these cuts individually throughout the year.
Option 2: Custom Cut Sheet (Fall Only)
Want full control over how your hog is cut? Our custom cut sheets are available in the fall for whole pork shares only. You'll receive a cut sheet where you choose everything — how your chops are cut, which portions are cured, roast sizes, and more. We'll walk you through every step.
Custom shares are priced at $7.50/lb based on hanging weight. A whole hog typically hangs at 160–200 lbs, and you'll take home roughly 70–75% of that weight in finished cuts (around 100–125 lbs of pork). Your final total is determined once the hog is processed, minus your $400 deposit.
The Process:
A non-refundable $400 deposit secures your spot. Once your hog is ready, we handle processing and coordinate delivery or pickup with you directly.
When Can I Expect My Pork Share?
We run two harvests during our growing season — one in early spring and one in the fall. In most cases, we can have your share ready for pickup within 3–4 weeks of placing your order. If we're between harvests or waiting on additional inventory, your share will be ready approximately two weeks after the next harvest date. As long as shares are available and not sold out, we've got a spot for you. If you're curious about current lead times or availability, just reach out — we're happy to give you an update.
How Much Freezer Space Do I Need?
Plan on 5–6 cubic feet of freezer space for a whole hog. A standard chest freezer (7 cu ft) handles it with room to spare.

At P&K Family Farms, our pigs are raised the way nature intended — on pasture and in the wooded areas of our farm where they're free to root, forage, and just be pigs. They are never confined to concrete floors or cramped barns. Instead, they spend their days roaming under the tree canopy, digging for grubs, and doing what pigs do best.
We feed a non-GMO, corn-free, soy-free feed to supplement their natural forage — because what goes into your animal matters just as much as how it's raised. Our pigs never receive antibiotics, added hormones, or mRNA vaccines. Ever. No exceptions.
This isn't the easy way to raise pork — it's the right way. It takes more time, more land, and more hands-on care. But you can taste the difference, and more importantly, you can trust what you're feeding your family.
